65 is built to help you learn English effectively while respecting your privacy. Your reading habits and vocabulary are personal — we keep them that way.

Data We Collect

Data Stored On Your Device Only

The following data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:

• Your saved vocabulary words and definitions
• Reading progress and bookmarks
• Daily streaks and achievement data
• Voice preferences and app settings
• Imported EPUB books
• Flashcard review history

iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you have iCloud enabled on your device, your vocabulary and reading progress may sync across your Apple devices via iCloud. This data is encrypted and managed by Apple according to Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

Anonymous Analytics (Minimal)

We collect minimal, anonymous analytics to improve the app:

• App crashes and error reports (via Apple's crash reporting)
• General usage patterns (e.g., which features are used most)
• Device type and iOS version (for compatibility)

This data is anonymized and cannot be used to identify you personally. We do not track which books you read or what words you save.

On-Device Processing

Key features of 65 work entirely on your device:

Translation Services

When you tap a word to translate it, the translation may be processed using:

• On-device translation (when available for your language pair)
• Apple Translation services (when on-device translation is not available)

Apple's translation services are covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not operate our own translation servers.

Book Library

65 provides access to public domain books in two ways:

Pre-recorded Audiobooks (100+ titles): A curated library of popular books includes pre-recorded audio with word-level synchronization. These are downloaded from our servers to your device for faster access and better battery life.

On-Device Generation (50,000+ titles): For other books, audio is generated entirely on your device using text-to-speech technology. No audio data is sent to any server.

• Book content and pre-recorded audio are downloaded to your device
• We may log anonymous download counts to understand which books are popular
• We do not track which specific users download which books
• We do not store any user data on our servers

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Your name, email, or contact information (no account required)
• The specific books you read or download
• The words you save to your vocabulary
• Your reading speed or patterns
• Content of any books you import
• Your location data

Third-Party Services

65 uses the following third-party services:

We do not use advertising networks, social media tracking, or third-party analytics services beyond Apple's built-in crash reporting.

Data Retention & Deletion

• To delete your data: Delete vocabulary items within the app, or delete the app entirely
• When you delete the app: All local data (vocabulary, progress, settings) is permanently removed
• iCloud data: Can be deleted through your iCloud settings

No Accounts Required

65 does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information. You can use the app immediately after downloading.

Children's Privacy

65 is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we collect minimal data and require no account creation, users of all ages can safely use the app.

International Users

65 is designed for international users learning English. Your personal data stays on your device regardless of your location. Any iCloud sync is managed by Apple according to their data handling practices for your region.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
